We’ve already sent in our new song, Money, (Pink Floyd parody) that’s ready for your support in downloading the song from CD Baby. It will also be up on iTunes next week! Our challenge for this song was to replicate the seven special coin sound effects including cash drawers, paper tearing, cash registers, etc. that Floyd had on their album. After months of back and forth emails, we were refused licensing rights to the actual sounds they used -- maybe it was due to our content (LOL). But it’s all good. We wound up using some of our own created sounds from our studio as well as downloading some samples from the internet, so it’s all legit. And we rewrote one of the lines, so Mark had to redo the vocals on the song.
A new short album of MONEY SONGS will be sent in this week to CD Baby for digital distribution.This CD has FOUR “Money” songs on it including Money, Money Cometh -- a flat out rock and roll song; Money (Pink Floyd parody); a new song Plastic Surgery; and The Squanderer by Parody Queen. What a deal that you can get this CD for only $5.00. We’ll post this up on our STORE later on this week AND you’ll be able to get this from CD Baby.
Product Spotlights
THE KEY OF BLUE is our newest CD that we’re working on in our studio.
This album will contain about 13 or 14 blues songs including a couple of instrumentals by Mark. We’re shooting for an end of October release date and are pretty excited that we’ve been able to preview some of these songs in our travels over the summer. We’ve had nothing but good feedback about the songs, and once people realize that ‘blues’ is a style, not about depressing stuff, they wonder where it’s been! We’ve been listening to Albert Collins, Coco Montoya, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, etc. and loads of other artists who have paved the way for this style to be heard. We can’t wait till this is done so we can get it out to the public.
THE TUNE REMAINS THE SAME by Parody Queen
Denise, AKA Parody Queen, finally saw one of her visions come to pass that she had over a decade ago. We picked the top 25 parodies (rewrites of songs with new biblical lyrics) and turned them into our latest CD, The Tune Remains The Same. With 25 can’t miss parodies, it’s a bargain at $15. Even the title of the Parody Queen CD, The Tune Remains The Same, is a parody of one of Led Zeppelin’s albums, The Song Remains The Same. Mark leads up several of these songs like Healed For The First Time (Foreigner’s Feels Like The First Time), You Are The Saviour (Queen’s We Are The Champions), and Roxette’s The Look. You’ll find some serious and amusing parodies from original artists i.e., Queen (We Will Rock You), Bee Gees (Staying Alive), The Bangles (Walk Like An Egyptian), Commodores (Dad’s House), Led Zeppelin (Stairway To Heaven), Lynyrd Skynyrd (Call Me The Breeze), Cameo (Word Up), and Toto (Rosanna), as well as some country (Elvira), and oldies from The Big Bopper (Chantilly Lace).
